Metastasis is that the leading reason for the resultant mortality of patients with cancer. The past few decades have witnessed exceptional progress in understanding the molecular and cellular basis of this fatal method in cancer. the present article summarizes a number of the key progress during this space and discusses the role of cell junctions, cell adhesions, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, angio and lymphangiogenesis and organ specific metastasis.
