Summary Eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) are rare, im- mune-mediated disorders characterized by eosinophilic infiltra- tion of one or more areas of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, various gastrointestinal symptoms depending on the affected tract region, as well as depth and extent of eosinophilic infiltration, and the absence of other known causes of eosinophilia.
